BLACK LIVES MATTER
Women in Lighting + Design is about community and our mission is to create a supportive and safe network for all our members. We cannot be there for our members, if we are not also standing up specifically for Black women. We cannot advocate for parents, if we are not standing with mothers who fear for their Black children’s lives. We stand in solidarity with the black community. We denounce all acts of racism and hope that we can build a stronger community together free of hate, discrimination, and senseless acts of violence.
Our mission is to provide the lighting community an inclusive and open environment for professional and personal growth by offering networking, mentorship, and knowledge sharing. Women in Lighting and Design is open to all women, those that identify as female, and their allies, creating a supportive and safe network for all.
Join us at our networking events for animated discussions on women in the workplace and current lighting trends while making new friends and meeting mentors. Learn from our history and discuss how we can strive to push forward as a group and individually.
We are WILD.

We hope you and yours are staying safe and healthy during this time. We know that every member of our community is experiencing hardships and uncertainty right now. Some of you are homeschooling your children, some of you have experienced the health impacts of COVID-19, and some of you are already feeling financial strains. Our volunteers at WILD have been struggling with our own personal issues, and reeling from the cancellation or postponement of multiple conferences and events that we were hoping would bring the WILD community together.
During this time of struggle, we must remember that we are a community, and our ultimate goal is to support one another. The most important thing for our members to do at this time is to make sure that they make it through this experience. If you are having trouble, reach out to your friends and supporters in this group. If you are on Facebook, join the WILD group so that you can access those in similar situations. But most of all, take care of yourself and those you love.
We will make it through this. We are Strong. We are Resilient. We are WILD.
Statistics indicate that there has been a rise in domestic violence during this time of stay-at-home. If you are able, please consider donating to Safe Horizon, a NYC based group helping to support children, adults, and families affected by crime and abuse.
